From the small baroque-style Rose Garden of the Residenz, you have a great view of the Altstadt and of the Cathedral. In summer when the roses are blooming, the smell in the garden is incredible.
Located in the island area of Bamberg and just a few minutes walk from the city center, there is the large City Park Hain. The Hain was made nature reserve in 2001. Also in the area of the Stadtpark Hain, there is the Botanical Garden of Bamberg.
Monastery St. Michael

The extensive gardens of the former Benedictine monastery St. Michael on the Michaelsberg were created in the 18th century by the Benedictine monks and are are accessible to the public now. There are thousands of different plants in the monastery gardens.
