There are three cinemas in Bamberg; two of them show films in the original version regularly.
Lichtspiel Kino und Cafe
The "Lichtspiel Kino und Cafe" was founded in 1954. In 1995, it received its present name. This cinema as well as the "Odeon Kino und Cafe" were awarded for their programmes several times. Both of them show films in the original version regularly.
This very modern cinema in the Atrium Shopping Center was founded in 2001 and has as many as 8 screens. Most of the
films that are shown are up-to-date mainstream movies.

In addition to this, the "Franconian Cinema Summer" (Fränkischer Kinosommer), an open-air cinema festival, takes place every year in summer.
